Honestly, if you're looking to access some of the nicer features like specific user flows and processes, I would definitely say so.

That being said, it's by no means required, and you can see essentially every screen they have using just the free version.

With that in mind, I will probably be purchasing a subscription myself within the year just because I really like what they offer, and the paid version allows much faster lookup of specific design patterns.
