Netlify DNS: Dealing with Subdomains
How to add a subdomain to your Netlify main domain for your next awesome project.
Sometimes, as designers & developers, we need to serve our projects on the web in a way that both brands it as ours while simultaneously separating it from our main site. A subdomain can fit that bill nicely
In this article, I am going to show you how to setup a subdomain that hooks up with your main domain that you purchased through Netlify.
WARNING: This article assumes some familiarity with Netlify and how it works. For more information, please refer to their docs here.
Purchasing a main domain
Now, I already have a custom domain (nicklawrencedesign.com) that I purchased through Netlify (one of my favorite services ever, and one that I would highly recommend for serious designers/developers).
If you haven’t already got a domain, you can easily purchase one through the Netlify interface once you’ve signed up for a free account.
If you have already done that, this next part is a piece of cake.
