Use genuine interest, habitual actions, and environmental design to replace discipline in places where it counts.

  • Focus on developing strength in areas which you have genuine interest.
  • Do a little bit of what you want to become good at every day.
  • Design your environment to work for you rather than against you.

Discipline is overrated

I think you and I can agree that when it comes to discipline, the word is used a lot these days. We believe that discipline, and discipline alone will solve all of the world’s problems.

In our post-crash, mid-pandemic, 21st century culture, discipline has now become the idol which we worship, second only to its seemingly measurable outcome: productivity.
