To be totally honest with you Ian, I think what we really need now is some type of functional Des/Dev IDE that allows real-time collaboration of designers and developers while working on code.

That being said, I fully suspect that within 4-6 years GPT-3 will have caught up and more than likely fully overtaken most aspects of design and development to the point where the entire industry will probably look completely different than it does now.

Especially with new HTML, CSS, and JS browser specs we may be coding and compiling components/templates on the fly, natively within the browser, rather than relying on layers of JS abstractions to make it happen.

In either case, where do you stand on it? Do you feel like coding should be a part of a designer's standard purview and, if so, where do you feel they should stop and let the professionals take over?
